Dull Dull Fridays

I was very very sad today.. maybe cuz i didn't expect my upcoming BIG 3-0 is going to a dull one... every year without fail its surely a nice dinner with Fai.. this year was in Jakarta in a nice Morrocan restaurant at Le Meridien.. next year... most likely tucked in bed sobbing and crying my eyes out... reason why i can foresee doing that?? Cuz i texted mama.

Me : For my birthday can i go up to jkt since Fai cant fly down? If I dun book now then I am scared ticket price will go up again?

Mama : Are you going book tickets for the kids ? (huh!! could i even be asking her if i am!!)

Me : Its ok then if you can't take care of the kids maybe i dun go then

Mama : Its not about CANNOT TAKE CARE, you want to go every month also i don't care

Me : Its ok la mama, thanks anyway but i dun think i am going. Even if i do, i i have to see if i can handle Faiz

Mama : Then you bring Faris since you can't handle both

The exchange went on and on and on that i had to hide in my pantry to keep from my mascara from smudging.. I mean when was the last time I got away on my own?? Not a week ago, not even month ago.. That was August! Come January it'll be more than 6 months since i did it.. i didnt realize it was gonna be so hard when Fai went away... I have to sacrifice even my bloody birthday!

Anyway, came home, decided to cycle with the boys for 30 mins and then the comfort eating kicked in... I made Parsnip chips for Faris..sliced, baked with olive oil & salt... for me.. caramelized pan fried banana with cream and maple syrup... for Faiz... a slice of blackforest cake..

The ecstacy of the cruncy caramelized sugar with the soft banana actually relieved me from some of my sadness.. maybe thats why people get fat when they are depressed!!

Deepavali Outing

Went to the CCk playground so Faris can brush up his roller-blading skills and then took the Jainals to Geylang Liyana's baju kurung,.. figured since its not very often that i go, i might as well get for the boys as well to wear on Fridays when they go to school next year... Faiz ate lettuce for lunch!! I was amazed..at least one of my boys are showing potential for eating veggies...

We went to the Woodlands swimming pool after that and it was ok.. lots of people but not body against body kind so ot was bearable.. Faiz loved the slides although i had to keep looking out at the lifeguard... no kids above 10 allowed and i am 3 times above the age limit!! lol

Faris held Liyans's hand all the way back to the house .. we figured we might as well walk... it was so sweet...

boredom... only 1 app for the entire day.. must be cuz of Deepavali...what the heck am i gonna do.....so this what i did.... took pictures of myself in the office to mms yati on my new top... ehhehehheh...

Firetruck

Faiz is so obsessed with fire truck that he makes me log on to youtube daily for clips on firetruck!! I took pity on him and bought a firetruck with sirens.. He loved it so much he slept with it!!!

Tanjong Beach

It was a fun weekend... we finally hit the beach after 7 weeks in hibernation! I'm starting to look 'pale' and pasty if you ask me.. it was not hot enough so my skin couldn't get that healthy glow that i liked..

I brought Quiche, chicken balls, hot dogs, cheesecake & caramelized bananas with maple syrup..

Liyana looked gorgeous in her sparkly violet bikini.. the boys also had a new get-up. Quicksilver surf tops.. I wore my red-hot Rip-curl surf shirt . After the beach session we hit km8 for dinner and the kids enjoyed minggling with the party-goers! They even danced! The highlight has to be the fire-dancer/twirler.. they were enthralled!

Liyana and Faris boogids to house music and really brought the house down! Seeing every other SPGs shaking their booties didnt help those two!

We had the Cow-abunga (which was just beef patty with grilled pineapples) and the kids had fish & chips.. we had this blended Lychee smoothie..similar to a Caiporoska..here's Angela being the barmaid... the poor woman had a flight to KL at 645am! Lucky for her its first class!!

Sunday Exercise

Although we had planned to go to the beach today, the kids were awake by 6.30am! I had to entertain them somehow!!! After breakfast i decided to take them cycling around the neighbourhood... the outcome? Visited 6 different playgrounds in 2 hours, Finished 4 packets of lemon tea & 1 tumbler of water!!!

Quiche

Saturday.. been looking forward to this day the whole week! Why??? Cuz tomorrow is Sunday and I get to go to the beach!! I made Quiche.. recipe is easy :-

Make some simple short dough.. for the base

Sautee 2 onions, 4 cloves of garlic, cubed carrots & minced beef. Season with salt & peper. Set aside

Sauce:-
400ml cream & milk (i like 50-50 so its not too creamy), 4 eggs, salt & pepper

pour the meat into the prepare paste and pour sauce over.. sprinkle with parmesan cheese or grated cheddar.. bake for 30mins on 175.

Pony Ride

The kids went for a pony ride today at Gallop Stable in Pasir Ris... papa didnt manage to take any pictures but the place looks really good and I'm looking forward to bring the kids again. Faris has been bugging me over the weekend saying he wants to the the Equistarian lessons... quite expensive but it might be good for him...

Basic Riding lessons for beginners

Group Lessons of 4 to 6
Age 7 years and above
Rates: $400 weekdays & $480 weekends comprising of 10 lessons
Each lessons lasting 45 minutes, once a week
Registration must be done in person prior to lesson booking
One time registration fee of $10
Compulsory riding gears, comprising of helmet, Gallop T-shirt, breeches and boots, must be worn during lessons
Riding gears are priced at $198 children & $250 adult subsidized package deal (Normal price of $320)
Riding gears are sold at Gallop horseshop
Gallop conducts Lessons daily except on Mondays
Upon registration the lesson schedule would be worked out to compromise both the rider and Gallops slots availability
Operating Hours: 8am to 12noon and 2pm to 7pm Tuesday to Sunday, Closed on Mondays

Holiday Inn Batam

Our last weekend getaway to Batam was nice except for the fact that Faiz locked himself in one of the rooms in the suite..The highlight of the trip had to be riding the 4WD ... it was so fun!

My Foodie Buddy

This is my breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner buddy... or otherwise known as my sayang...Christine...
Our breakfast routines are usually Delifrance and lately this kopitiam near her place.. Lunch is usually Jack's, Ichiban or CJ, Pizza Hut.. depending on our mood .. married, no kids and she speaks better malay than I do!! damn!

Mad Dash

This whole week passed by in a blur! Maybe cuz its month end and we rushing for sales... at least i met yati on monday for dinner at Ria Ayam Penyek. I had the Sop Buntut and she had a 'safe' ayam penyek.. the finale was my black sesame ice cream and yati going for another 'safe bet' the chocolate one... i suppose we were both bored to tears so here's us posing in the loo and Yati looking angry at me..... i know she'll be pissed that i posted this photo but at least the other one looks good....hahahahah

A Not So Fantastic Weekend

I always look forward to weekends.. meaning i dun have to work and i can enjoy it with the kids. However since Syawal we are stuck visiting relatives who haven't been home the first 2 weekends.....

Sunday started out pretty good.. had breakfast at Deli but all went haywire at the Children's playground at Botanic Gardens... i'm not even going to write about it as its a recurring thing... anyway the children's playground was nice... they had a cute treehouse with slides but it was a bloody hot day... spent the day visting AGAIN!! The only highlight of my sunday was going over to Marziah's place for dinner and actually had a peaceful evening..

I bidded for 6 items on Tatarah... greedy eh?? Since i don't buy 4D this is the closest to gambling for me...
