About Me

My photo
I´m a foodie who lives to eat. A Singaporean living in the heart of Jakarta. My food blog started because I could never remember my recipes back when we travelled back and forth from here and Singapore...and I´m terrible at keeping folders! So this was my savior. I still rely on this blog to cook so just know that the recipes here are all tried and tested!

The colour purple

On impulse I bought that purple Tony Bianco purple heels... granted its on sale for $30 but how often would I wear it? Most importantly.. do I have anything to wear it WITH??

Some people say purple is the colour of sexual deprivation...... gosh would it show "DEPRIVED" right on my sleeves?? heheheh

Googles purple and I came up with this....:-

Purple combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. Purple is associated with royalty. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. It conveys wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic.

According to surveys, almost 75 percent of pre-adolescent children prefer purple to all other colors. Purple is a very rare color in nature; some people consider it to be artificial.

Light purple is a good choice for a feminine design. You can use bright purple when promoting children's products.

Light purple evokes romantic and nostalgic feelings.
Dark purple evokes gloom and sad feelings. It can cause frustration.

So far fetched from my initial meaning!!!

So I went out and bought this Arthur Yen dress.... somehow I couldn't capture its 'flirtiness' over the camera to match my shoe..... I'm so in love with it! It falls right on my mid-calf.. has a pink slip underneath the chiffon fabric to make it look like purple...and pleats over the front.. The collar give me that very decent, demure look. (puke puke!)
