About Me

My photo
I´m a foodie who lives to eat. A Singaporean living in the heart of Jakarta. My food blog started because I could never remember my recipes back when we travelled back and forth from here and Singapore...and I´m terrible at keeping folders! So this was my savior. I still rely on this blog to cook so just know that the recipes here are all tried and tested!

Posing outside our suite..

Us trio have been looking forward to this weekend for soooo long! After checking in to Holiday Inn Batam, we found out we had this great room facing the pool on the 1st level....

Coincidentally Fai was in Pekanbaruover the weekend as well and he thought of coming over to Batam to see me for a quick rendevous... but alas he found out the ferry is another 2 hours & the trip to the terminal another 1...so we're scrapping the idea out..

We left the hotel shortly for massage and found out it was FULL! The only available slot was at 7pm onwards when its not too crowded so undeterred by that we headed to Nagoya Hill for early dinner at A&W.. it sad why there's not a single A&W left here.. i loved their double cheeseburger & crispy chicken... yuuumm..

We walked around and shopped a bit at the Hypermart.. Yati bought so much FRUITS it was unbelievable! She also bought this jewel-sticker like thingy for her to use on D&D night!! Gosh!! Choo went crazy over baby clothes for her niece & nephew... I think her biological clock is ticking....lol

Then headed to Mega Mall to get the Donuts... there was this very irritating guy in the queue who kept asking if we wanted to share!!! then even after ordering he keep calling and changing his donuts and keep bumping into Yati... poor thing and she's so petit!

We had a 2 hour massage.. Yati opted for the Aroma Massage at 140,000 rph, me & choo opted for the Indo-Thai massage for 120,000 rph.. damn worth it... 2 hour massage for $20!

The rest of the night were spent talking and just advising Yati on her impending married life.. its not like we're perfect or anything but its better that she dun make the same mistakes that we made if she can help it..

Sunday morning was the best... sat down for a 2.5 hour breakfast.. i think we gulped down 7 cups of tea EACH!!! We spent the remaining 2 hours just relaxing by the pool.. getting some Vitamin E or is it Vitamin D ?? into our system...and bitching over women with imperfect bodies in bikini... not as if we were any better... i have love handles (and Yati reminded that my picture should be taken WAIST UP!!), Choo also have love handles... and Yati is flat chested... hahahah so much for bitching about others! ahahahah

After we checked out, we realized we have another 2 hours to kill before departing so had lunch at the Terrace Restaurant.. i was dissapointed that the Sop Ekor was missing from the menu... instead i had the Tom Yum Soup, Choo had the Green Curry & Yati had Bak Mie...it was a good & fulfilling lunch.. once we collected the tickets Choo said something that really cracked me up!! Her Malay is better than mine & yati's combined so its not surprising to hear her blabber in Malay all the time but i was dumbstruck when she said "Sial betul, tetek besar pun tak nampak ke?" when they key in as MALE in her white card! ahahhahahahaha
